Understanding the importance of building relationships with students, if there is a student who dislikes the teacher and refuses to interact with them pleasantly or obey rules, what should the teacher do?
I would try and find out what the student does not like about the class or how I am teaching. This will help me change my actions and maybe soon the student will come around and start having respect for me and fallow the rules
I think there's a difference between a student disliking a teacher and a student disobeying rules. We don't need the students to like us, even though we might want them to, but we do need them to follow rules. They are connected, though, so I think one way would be to give all the students a survey of what they like and dislike about the class and what they feel would help them thrive in the class.
